Environmental groups have exerted political pressure to encourage the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reverse its findings on hydraulic fracturing.  The EPA has found that “hydraulic fracturing activities have not led to widespread, systemic impacts to drinking water resources.”  The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) has sent a letter to EPS Administrator, Gina McCarthy asking her not to succumb to this pressure to modify its conclusion based on the extensive science related to the topic.  The New Mexico Oil & Gas Association has joined IPAA and numerous other organizations in signing the letter.
